Please join us for our first annual Friends of Candler Park 5K Saturday June 16 at 10:00. The run kicks off the Midsummer Music and Food Festival. http://www.midsummer music festival.com/ . All proceeds from the race go to Friends of Candler Park for the beatification of Candler Park.

About the Event

The Friends of Candler Park 5K is a 3.1 mile run walk in historic Candler Park. 

Awards and Extras

All athletes will receive:
- a premium quality, environmentally sustainable t-shirt
- a complementary bevarage coupon and wristband for the festival ($10 value) for runners over 21 years of age.

Awards include Overall male and female, and for 1st place male and female by age group; Under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over. After the race we will be serving fruit and bagels.

Registration and Fees

The entry fee is $25 per person if paid by June 9th and $30 afterward up until race day.

Or you can take your chances and sign up the day of the race starting at 9:00 AM at Epworth Methodist on the corner of Mel and Mclendon. However, there will be a limited number of day of entries available.
 
The race will start a block away on the corner of Page and Mclendon (next to Fellini’s) at 10:00.

Want to Volunteer?

Not a runner these days? Don’t feel left out -Volunteer! That way, you can earn a race shirt and not have to break a sweat! Not comfortable with that? Come out and be a part of the spectator-lined course. Whatever you do, you don't want to miss the Excitement!  Volunteers will receive a coupon for a wrist band and a beverage.

Directions

Candler Park is located on McLendon Avenue between Little Five Points (Moreland Avenue) and Clifton Road.
MARTA: We're also easily accessible by MARTA Rail from the Edgewood/Candler Park Station on the East Line, and by bus routes serving the station. Exit on the Candler Park side. Turn right onto Oakdale Road and walk two blocks north to McLendon Avenue, turn right and walk one block east to the park!
