Preservation Field Services for Places in Peril!
Through a Partners in the Field grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and generous support from statewide donors and charitable organizations, each Place in Peril will receive direct assistance as part of The Georgia Trust's Partners in the Field program. Jordan Poole, our field services representative, will visit each designee and work with the local property owners and community leaders to help form a preservation strategy for each 2011 Places in Peril site.

THINK BROADLY
When identifying potential Places in Peril, please keep in mind that there are many ways to be a strong candidate for this program. Yes, we're interested in those significant sites that are in immediate danger.  However, we're also interested in sites that represent significant preservation issues and trends in the state that need attention. Examples could include a building type that's particularly endangered or a potential heritage tourism district.

And remember our criteria!
We're looking for historic properties that are historically significant; significantly threatened; have demonstrated community commitment; a reasonable potential for a positive outcome; or highlights statewide threats to historic properties; and represent diversity in terms of geographical distribution, variety of property/building types, and issues and constituencies served.

Nominations forms available at
