Mulch Men

Aug 22 2012

As part of the CPNO sidewalk initiative, six stumps were drilled out alongside the sidewalks of Oakdale and McLendon. Several of these stumps were giants, and they encroached significantly on the sidewalk. This made it nearly impossible to walk two abreast, or with a stroller or wheelchair. Good riddance, stumps!

But, the stump removal project left mountains of mulch where the stumps had been. Some of that mulch was used to fill the holes, but there was still a lot of mulch leftover. What to do?

MULCH MEN TO THE RESCUE!

A merry band of mulch removal engineers (also known as neighborhood volunteers) - Mark Clement, Mischa Uppelschoten, Eric Rubenstein and Ken Edelstein - loaded up the mulch and unloaded it on the fine trees in the park. Not the most relaxing way to spend a Tuesday evening, but very much appreciated.

A big thank you to our mulch men! Our neighborhood is a tidier, more walkable place because of you.
